Here in Aberdeen, personal branding photography is still a relatively new service. Many professionals don’t understand what the benefit is of booking a personal branding photoshoot. In this post I want to run through 3 reasons why personal branding photographs are fantastic marketing assets for your business.

Marketing Assets

Firstly, I want to touch on why you want marketing assets for your personal brand as opposed to a business brand. 

Your personal brand is important whether you are building your career and work for someone else or you work for yourself. If someone is considering working with you or hiring you, they will no doubt look you up online. It is your responsibility to make sure you are showing up online in the way you want. You can project a personal brand that speaks to your ambitions. You can do this whilst still being authentically you, if you put a bit of thought in to it.

Personal Branding Photography

Having a personal branding photo shoot is the ideal way to create marketing assets for your personal brand. I have shared 3 reasons that personal branding photographs are an asset to you in the video below:

1. Show your uniqueness to connect with clients

Chances are, there are lots of other people out there who do what you do. In order to stand out, you need to show what makes you unique. This doesn’t need to be complicated – you just need to be you!

Share your hobbies, your values and your interests – people with similar interests will be drawn to you and then you are half way there. If I love watching interior design shows (I do) and if I show that as part of my personal brand I will attract others who like interior design shows. If that person is looking to hire a personal branding photographer, will they hire me or someone else who doesn’t share any of their personality online?

2. Professional Image

Having professional branding photos taken to use both on social media and on your website will convey professionalism. It shows you are serious about your job. If you have invested in a professional photo shoot to showcase your brand then you seem more legitimage than if you just use images of you as a guest at a wedding.

3. You can talk about your business without selling

It’s important to be able to talk about your business without trying to push your products or service on your audience all the time. How do you do this? You tell stories, explain some of your work processes and share behind the scenes snap shots. You also share personal stories, your likes and dislikes. All of this helps to build the know, like and trust factor before you go to sell. Personal branding photos are the perfect way to do this.
