Pinterest is by far my favorite way to drive quality traffic to my website. As a Pinterest strategist I may be biased but I way prefer it to social media. I have wasted a lot of time posting on social media for little to no engagement – and hardly anyone clicks though to my site. But Pinterest comes easy to me for some reason. Today I want to share with you why you should use a Pinterest business account vs personal account.

Pinterest Business Account vs Personal Account

Here is why you want to set up a business account.

Once you claim your website, you can track your analytics and see what your top performing pins are. You can also see what content is resonating the most with your audience.

Rich Pins

With a business account you can apply for rich pins. Rich pins will automatically pull through your meta data from your site which will give readers more information on what your pin content is about. Rich Pins also score you extra brownie points with the Pinterest algorithm and will help you to show higher up the results.

Audience Tracking

You can install a Pinterest tag on the back end of your website. This does the same thing as a Facebook pixel. You install the code and then you can re-target anyone who has already visited your site using Pinterest ads which brings me to my next point.

Pinterest Ads

Facebook ads are getting expensive and Pinterest ads relatively inexpensive by comparison. You have the added bonus that even once you have stopped paying for your ad your pin can be re-pinned for free – bonus!
